Every Sunday I put out a weeks worth of clothes for each child into these hanging cloth shelves with a shelf for each day of the week. Each boy has one in his closet. This especially helps my husband so he doesn't have to decide what to dress the boys in. I found mine in discount stores like HomeGoods, but I've also seen them in the Lilian Vernon catalog.

Get advanced tickets to movies or subscribe to a season's worth of plays at a theater so that you have guaranteed nights out. Without these things, I'm not sure my partner and I would ever have a for-sure night out together.

The little luxuries can make a big difference. I splurge on fancy organic shampoo and hairspray even if my shoes were purchased on clearance. It makes me smile every morning.

Buy a small notebook with tabbed sections. Make lists for everything. I have a section for blog topic ideas, a section for ongoing "to do" lists, a section for meal planning (one page of just dinner ideas, then pages are for grocery lists and weekly meal planning lists), the last section is long term lists (what I need to bring when we go out of town in two weeks for example).

Take at least ONE moment for yourself every single day. Even if that moment is only as long as an inhale and an exhale.

Buy in bulk at Costco or other warehouse stores. Immediately divide the pita chips, dried fruit or whatever into snack bags for lunches. The servings are already portioned out and you can grab and go when you are going to the park or for lunches.

Keep one to do list and one list only!!! I have so many pads on my desk, in my purse and in my car. It's a disaster ....I am commited to becoming a one-pad mother....wish me luck.

Basically I try to think about what will really matter when I look back on my life. Will I be happy to say that my house was always clean or that I spent time on the floor playing with my kids?

The next time you take a trip, write down everything that you pack in categorized lists by person, type of item (cosmetics, clothes, food, entertainment etc.). Also, list out all your tasks as you do them, like notifying neighbors, setting the alarm code, programming the thermostat, etc. Just write it all down as you do it. Then, keep the list and use it for subsequent trips.

I do the grocery shopping online and avoid the store altogether. Giant (peapod.com) will deliver for a $6.95 fee and I figure with the money that I am saving comparing prices online and noticing what's on sale, it's completely worth it.
