Colorado Community College Helps Non-Traditional Students:

A Colorado community college has created a new "Fast Track" program to help non-traditional students not only finance their education, but expedite the time commitment for taking courses. At Lamar Community College, "Each class is completed in five weeks instead of the usual 15-week semester," the Lamar Daily News [1] reported. Brenda Jeffryes --single mom, co-owner of a beauty salon and student -- said when a friend of hers asked her how she’d tackle going back to school, parenting and work, she said, "How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time." (July 2007)
