Pennsylvania Restaurant Bans Kids Under 6

The owner of a Monroeville, Pennsylvania restaurant has told his customers that they need to be 6 and up in order to be admitted. No exceptions, according to a Pittsburgh TV station [1]. “We feel that [our restaurant] is not a place for young children,” the owner, Mike Vuick, said to customers in an e-mail. “Their volume can’t be controlled and many, many times, they have disturbed other customers.”

“You know, their children – maybe as it should be – [are] the center of their universe,” Vuick continued. “But they don’t realize it’s not the center of the universe.” (July 2011)
