Study: When Work Comes Home, Women Feel More Guilt.

A study [1] by two University of Toronto researchers published in the Journal of Health and Social Behavior found that “women tend to feel 30 percent to 40 percent more guilty and distressed than men when they have to take work-related calls or e-mails at home,” the Wall Street Journal’s blog, The Juggle reported [2]. Noting that dealing with work issues at home didn’t seem to really faze men, The Juggle reported, “While all women reported increased feelings of guilt and distress when work spilled into home life in these ways [calls, beepers, faxes, e-mails], mothers with young children suffered more negative feelings than other women.” (April 2011)
