Report: Women’s Sports Getting Less TV Time Than Usual.

Salon [1] reported that the already paltry amount of TV time allotted to women’s sports has gone down even further recently. Citing a University of Southern California study, Salon writer Ryan Brown said, “In a sample of six weeks of ESPN’s SportsCenter and Los Angeles area network sports broadcasts, researchers found that less than 2 percent of the coverage was devoted to women’s sports, a plunge from the high – and that is truly a relative term – of 8.7 percent recorded a decade ago.” (July 2010)
