Michelle Obama and Hillary Clinton both attended the State Department Women of Courage Awards on Wednesday. According to CNN , Clinton heaped praise on Obama for being a positive role model for women across the country.
Both spoke of how women's roles are crucial to the current economic situation.
"Global problems are too big and too complex to be solved without the full participation of women," wrote Clinton in honor of Monday's International Women's Day. During Obama's remarks Wednesday, she echoed a similar theme, "The difference between a broken community and a thriving one is the presence of women who are valued, where relationships among women and between women and men are based upon mutual respect."
