First Lady included in the Most Powerful Mothers of 2010.

Working Mother magazine named the COO of Facebook, Sheryl Sandberg, a mother of two, as the “Most Powerful Mom of 2010” because Facebook’s CEO “heavily relied on Sandberg to make his company ready for its expansion and growth.”

The magazine also noted that First Lady Michelle Obama has been a formidable public policy influencer, saying: “While her role does not allow her to receive a paycheck, it’s hard to argue that she is not a working mom . . . In 2010, Obama campaigned against childhood obesity and traveled the world, all while raising two daughters.”

Kim Clijsters, the three-time winner of the U.S. Open, Angela Braly, the president and CEO of Wellpoint, the nation’s biggest health insurance company and Susan Hockfield, the president of MIT were also high on the list. (December 2010)
