Study: Military Parents Facing Shortage of Childcare, Preschools for Their Children.

A study by the Mellman Group and Public Opinion Strategies “found that, most military families, like their civilian peers, do not have access to high-quality early learning and care opportunities” making it “one of the most pressing needs for service members, reported The Pew Center on States. With high costs, long waiting lists for quality programs and not having military bases located near childcare and preschool facilities, military service members – 3.5 million military service people have 680,000 children under the age of 5 according to the Department of Defense -- said this issue remains a distraction and common worry when they’re deployed.
