The Wall Street Journal’s The Juggle blog recently asked women if and when they tackle work projects while technically still on maternity leave and if so, why. “Other friends have done a few work projects before their leaves are officially over, because, well, they needed a respite from a colicky baby or a chaotic household or, in some cases, were admittedly bored during their time off,” wrote Rachel Emma Silverman who said that, during her upcoming leave for her second child, she’ll still have to do some work on a manuscript.
