Describe your job.

My job is many. My field is fitness and health. I have been teaching fitness classes for the last 20 years. I teach everything from step class, boot camp, beginners low impact, body conditioning. I also write fitness columns for MSNBC.com and LA Daily News. I contribute to many magazines as well. I was on the Today Show for 12 years as their fitness consultant and did my segments with Katie Couric. I am the author of six health and fitness books, with the latest book called Fit and Sexy for Life. I also have a list of celebrity clients that I see weekly. Kim Bassinger, Bryce Dallas Howard, Lisa Marie Presley and Julia Roberts. But all that aside my most important job is being a mom to my three boys that keeps me physically and mentally on the go.

Do you work exclusively in the office, exclusively from home or some combination? What are the pros and cons of your schedule?

My work takes place in many different places. I go to clients home starting at 6 a.m. I also have some clients show up at my house at 5:30 a.m. For four months, I trained Michelle Pfeiffer at 4:30 a.m. for her role in Batman Returns. I also teach classes at my community center in California in the neighborhood where I live. The creative part of my job takes place in my home office. The best part of working all over the place is that I can really design my weekly schedule. I have to be flexible for my kids' schedule as well as my husband's. The worst part of it is that I have to travel to some peoples homes and the traffic in L.A. is completely unbearable. I never know how long it will take to get somewhere. Most of the time you are either late or early.

What are the best and worst parts of your job?

The best part of my job is that I get to really know someone and help them to improve the quality of their life by what I bring to them. I love to see them change both physically and emotionally.

Would you work if you could afford to stay home? If so, why?

I've always been a fan of Kathy Kaehler, so it is great to see her in the spotlight here. OF course, I don't know her personally, but she always has seemed very down to earth and compassionate. I love her honesty here...just like a girlfriend.
