Breastfeeding Med Student Gets Extra Test Time

A Massachusetts appeals court judge has granted a Massachusetts mother's request to order the National Board of Medical Examiners to give her additional time during her medical license exam in order to express her breastmilk. This overrules a prior judgment from a lower court judge refusing her request. The Appeals Court Judge said the mother should be given time to use her breastpump in order to "put her on 'equal footing' with the men and non-lactating women who take the exam," according to the Associated Press.
