Bay Area Women Who Are Effectively Balancing Motherhood and Careers
Today, women are increasingly interested in blending parenthood with a career. However, the careers they seek today are not the traditional full-time, office-bound roles. In fact, the Pew Research Center survey released last month found that only 21 percent of working mothers with children under 18 viewed full-time work as the best arrangement, down from 32 percent in 1997. Sixty percent of the working mothers said a part-time job would be best, up from 48 percent ten years ago.
In support of this growing trend, Flexperience™ (www.FlexperienceStaffing.com), a Bay-Area based boutique staffing firm, and Mommy Track’d (www.Mommytrackd.com), a popular eZine for working moms, are hosting their second large event dedicated to professional working mothers on October 18, 2007, at Mission Bay Conference Center in San Francisco, CA. Sponsored by leading Bay-Area employers including Latham & Watkins, Genentech, and Deloitte and jam packed with a panel of extraordinary women juggling career and kids in different ways, the event is sure to inspire women to find new ways to balance their professional and parental lives.
